IP CCTV and camera network support in the Perth Hills
A camera can be powered on without recording or appearing where you expect to view it. PC FIX-IT can help investigate the network and IT side of IP CCTV systems. Tell Mark whether you have lost one camera, all recording or access from a particular device.
Ask about this serviceStart with what still works
Can you see live pictures on the recorder's screen? Are earlier recordings available? Does viewing work onsite but fail on your phone elsewhere? These details help separate a camera or recorder fault from a network, account or viewing problem.
Have the camera and recorder models ready, plus any error message. Mention a recent router replacement, internet change or power interruption. Keep footage, passwords and pictures of private areas out of the initial enquiry. A description of the fault is enough to start.
Camera connections, recording and storage
We can discuss checks of camera network connections, the network video recorder or NVR, viewing software and storage status. If cameras connect through a network switch, include its model if you know it. Agree on any interruption before changing equipment that is currently recording.
Explain what footage matters before resetting a device or replacing storage. Being able to view a live picture does not confirm that recordings are being kept. Include finding and playing back a recording in the agreed checks, and discuss how authorised users will export a clip when needed.
Planning a system or changing an existing one
For a planned installation, describe the site, the areas you need to view and who needs access. We can discuss the network, storage and viewing requirements before equipment is chosen. Compatibility between cameras, recorders and software needs checking for the proposed system.
Confirm the work required and who will handle each part before booking. Security installation, camera mounting, fixed cabling and electrical work may need separate contractors. An existing system's installer or support provider should be involved where their equipment or service arrangement is affected.
Give viewing access to the right people
Agree who can view live pictures, retrieve recordings and administer the system. The owner should retain control of the accounts and recovery details. If remote viewing is needed, discuss a supported access method and ongoing updates before changing router settings or exposing a recorder to the internet.
For the handover, check the required cameras, recording playback and viewing from the agreed devices. Record any unresolved fault or supplier follow-up. Tell us about an existing IT provider so network changes and access can be coordinated with them.
Arrange help and check the cost
Tell us your suburb, the equipment involved and what you need working. Onsite visits are by arrangement. Check our service areas and discuss availability before making plans.
Every job is quoted individually. Tell us what needs fixing and we will discuss the options and cost before you go ahead.
A 30-minute minimum applies. Travel fees may apply for locations more than one hour from Perth CBD. Confirm the scope and total cost before work starts.
