Office moves and IT setup in Swan View and Perth Hills
Moving office, adding a workstation or installing a sit-stand desk? PC FIX-IT can help with the move and IT setup. A desk is ready for work when the person sitting at it can sign in, open their files and use the equipment they need. Start with those everyday tasks when planning the job.
Ask about this serviceList what each workstation needs
Include the computer, screens, dock, keyboard and any printer or scanner it uses. Note the software, shared folders and email accounts needed for the job. For an existing workstation, record what already works before disconnecting anything, including which screen or peripheral uses each connection.
We can discuss connecting equipment, setting up a computer and checking its everyday tasks. Tell us about employer-managed devices, specialist software and existing support agreements before booking. Your administrator or software supplier may need to prepare accounts, licences or permissions first.
Check the new location before moving day
An available internet connection, suitable power and a place to connect each device need checking before staff arrive. Confirm your service activation with the internet provider. Do not assume that taking the old router to a new address will make the office connection work.
For an office move, explain the number of workstations, what needs moving and any shared phones, storage or printers. Discuss packing, transport, access at both locations and reconnection before choosing a cutover date. Agree on what PC FIX-IT will handle and what needs another contractor. Fixed cabling and electrical work need their own arrangements.
Sit-stand desks and workstation installation
We also install sit-stand desks and set up the equipment around them. Send the desk model, assembly instructions if available, and details of the screens, mounts and computer it will hold. Mention stairs, narrow access or an existing desk that needs moving so the job can be planned before arrival.
The desk needs room to move with the equipment connected. Setup includes checking cable slack through its intended movement, keeping leads away from moving parts and making sure connected equipment is not pulled as the height changes. Desk and monitor-mount limits need checking against the manufacturer's instructions before fitting equipment.
Prepare access and protect the files
Keep the person who approves account and network changes involved in the plan. Arrange access through them, with account owners available for sign-in and verification where needed. Do not email passwords or customer records with your equipment list.
Before replacing a computer or changing storage, identify important files and check that a usable backup exists. Agree which files and applications need to be available on the new setup. Keep the old machine available until those checks are complete and disposal has been discussed with the business owner.
Test a normal working day
Choose a few real tasks for the handover: open a shared document, access email, print or scan a test page and try the software needed for work. If video calls are part of the job, check the camera, microphone and sound at the desk where they will be used.
Record anything still waiting on a provider, account approval or equipment delivery, with a named contact for the next step. If a move is involved, discuss when the old setup can be disconnected and how staff will work while the change takes place. Confirm the setup scope and timing before relying on a start date.
Arrange help and check the cost
Tell us your suburb, the equipment involved and what you need working. Onsite visits are by arrangement. Check our service areas and discuss availability before making plans.
Every job is quoted individually. Tell us what needs fixing and we will discuss the options and cost before you go ahead.
A 30-minute minimum applies. Travel fees may apply for locations more than one hour from Perth CBD. Confirm the scope and total cost before work starts.
